TNT Anacropora Coral
Anacropora Coral Care Guide
The Anacropora Coral is a fast-growing SPS (Small Polyp Stony) coral closely related to Acropora but generally considered more tolerant of varying conditions. It has a branching structure with a delicate, porous appearance and lacks the terminal axial corallites found in Acropora species. Due to its rapid growth and unique texture, it makes an excellent addition to mature reef aquariums.

Care Requirements:
Lighting: Moderate to high (PAR 150-300). Requires stable, consistent lighting to maintain coloration and growth.
Flow: Moderate to strong. Strong, alternating flow is ideal to keep detritus off and provide oxygenation.
Placement: Middle to upper areas of the tank with ample space for growth.
Water Parameters:
Temperature: 76-80°F (24-27°C)
Salinity: 1.025 SG (35 PPT)
pH: 8.1-8.4
Alkalinity: 8-12 dKH
Calcium: 400-450 ppm
Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
Feeding & Nutrition:
Anacropora primarily relies on photosynthesis via its zooxanthellae, but it can benefit from occasional feedings of phytoplankton, amino acids, and powdered coral foods to promote growth.
Compatibility & Challenges:
Moderately aggressive—does not have sweeper tentacles but can outcompete nearby corals due to rapid growth.
Fragile branches—can break easily, making fragging simple but requiring careful handling.
Sensitive to parameter swings—stable alkalinity, calcium, and nutrient levels are crucial to prevent tissue loss.
Final Tips:
Provide strong, consistent flow and lighting, maintain stable water conditions, and allow ample space for growth. With proper care, Anacropora corals can become a fast-growing, visually striking part of an SPS-dominant reef aquarium!
