You will receive a frag SIMILAR in shape and size to the coral in the photo. This is NOT a WYSIWYG frag. All our frags are generally 3/4” - 1”
Care Requirements:
Lighting: Moderate to high (PAR 200-350). Requires stable lighting to maintain its vibrant coloration.
Flow: Moderate to strong. Ensuring good water movement prevents detritus buildup and encourages healthy growth.
Placement: Middle to upper areas of the tank with space for growth, as it may encrust or develop branches over time.
Water Parameters:
Temperature: 76-80°F (24-27°C)
Salinity: 1.025 SG (35 PPT)
pH: 8.1-8.4
Alkalinity: 8-12 dKH
Calcium: 400-450 ppm
Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
Feeding & Nutrition:
Montipora Setosa relies on photosynthesis, but occasional feedings of phytoplankton, amino acids, and powdered coral foods can enhance growth and coloration.
Compatibility & Challenges:
Peaceful coral, but can be overtaken by aggressive encrusting corals if placed too close.
More tolerant than Acropora, but still sensitive to sudden parameter swings.
Fragile structure, making it easy to frag but requiring careful handling.
Final Tips:
Provide strong, stable lighting and water flow, ensure consistent water parameters, and give it room to grow. With proper care, Montipora Setosa will develop into a stunning, vibrantly colored coral in any SPS reef aquarium!
